History of the Hall:

Given to the parishioners of Blofield by Major and Mrs Harker. First opened in November 1923. The hall is celebrated 100 years in 2023!

Margaret Harker Hall is a registered charity led by volunteers forming a management committee.

The hall is based in the centre of the village of Blofield. Part of the grounds are leased to other organisations:  It is home to Blofield and Brundall Sea Scouts, Blofield Tennis Club and Blofield United Football Club.

Regular hirers of the hall include Blofield Pre-School, Dancing Dimensions, Broadly Active, Gardening Club and Badminton clubs.

The hall can be hired by individuals too, for celebration parties, birthdays, etc.  A temporary alcohol licence can be obtained for certain events.

It offers for hire a large hall that has capacity for 125 people, with kitchen facilities and a stage for performances.  The outside facilities include large grounds with toddler and activity play areas.  (Please note that capacity is likely to be reduced whilst Covid-19 social distancing restrictions are in place).

Blofield Amateur Dramatics Society uses the hall for rehearsals and to stage its annual panto.

The venue is suitable for the following:

  • Wedding
  • Party
  • Anniversary
  • Training
  • Children’s Party
  • Societies and Clubs
  • Music Event
  • Theatre Production
  • Christenings / Blessings
  • Baby Groups
  • Fitness Classes / Yoga
  • Church Event / Choir Practice

Updated facilities:

In September 2019 We were pleased to announce that the refurbishment of the toilets was completed.

We wish to thank Awards for All, Blofield Parish Council, Norfolk Community Foundation and The Geoffrey Watling Charity for their financial support of the project.  We also wish to thank the builders, G W Gooch and Sons Ltd, who carried out the work to a very high standard and within the timescale.  We have had very positive feedback from many of our regular hirers.
