Welcome to The Margaret Harker Hall & Blofield Memorial Ground
Blofield Village hall is in the centre of the Norfolk village of Blofield, to the east of Norwich. The village of Brundall with its marina and train station is just to the south, and shares a roundabout on the A47 - so there is easy car access to the hall. The Margaret Harker Hall was built in 1923 and offers a traditional Village Hall setting for your event, club or class.
It has a sprung wooden floor in the large main hall, that is appreciated by Badminton Clubs across Norfolk, Scottish Country Dancers and various Dance Classes that make use of it. This type of floor gives you extra 'bounce' and is very comfortable to move on - and hard to find. The Hall also has a fitted kitchen with equipment, bathroom facilities, and raised behind the stage a newly painted Community Room which is a cosy space already set up with wooden table & chairs for a group of up to 16 people to gather and enjoy arts & crafts, a book club or small party. (This space is in development and we hope will be fully fitted with new wash up and refreshment facilities by April 2027).
The large hall has 125 padded chairs, fold out tables and can accommodate larger events. The kitchen is kitted out with cutlery, crockery and serving dishes as well as kettles, teapots & kitchen equipment to support events.
It is a very pleasant short walk from the church in Blofield, along a direct footpath lined with trees, which is a lovely way to move between the two. It is a really attractive place to hold a wedding, christening, funeral or most events. The hall is open for use by everyone in the community and was donated to the Parish of Blofield for recreational use. The hall car park is available to hall users and there is parking along the road outside too.
The wider Blofield Memorial Grounds form part of the site, and the same charity. Home to Blofield Tennis Club, 1st Blofield & Brundall Sea Scouts, and Blofield Football Club - each organisation has its own culture and dedicated space - all sharing the ethos of the charity that it is a site for recreational activities. Additionally there are well maintained children's playpark in two age bands - the younger children's playpark is surrounded by fencing and adjacent to the older children's play equipment.
Please choose to hire our Village Hall - and in turn support our community. We regularly put on fundraising events to bring our community together, offer opportunities to connect within the community and to provide additional fundraising for larger maintenance projects. If you would like a tour please do get in touch. There is more information on the hall here - please browse using the tabs above.
